LØLØ, omg
Hopeless Records
Hopeless Records’s latest pop-punk prodigy LØLØ is back with a banger, the latest in the line of singles that followed 2022’s stunner of a debut EP debbie downer, which was laden with catharsis-inducing, scream-along pop-punk perfection. omg follows the same blueprint, with intimate stripped-back verses punctuated by bold riffs and pure energy.
omg is a perfect reminder of LØLØ’s power – she’s equally magical when she’s murmuring over a gentle acoustic with diaristic, dreamy recollections or belting choruses and mantras over punchy guitars, or delivering a fierce bridge straight from the heart. omg is an ode to when it all just gets a bit much, LØLØ hitting lines like “oh my god, wish this shit would go away” with pure feeling – but not a lack of fun. She maintains her charm throughout, making for a listen that’s all the more emotional.
omg arrives just ahead of LØLØ’s appearance at Slam Dunk Festival at the end of the month, so if you’ve got an appetite to let it all out in excellent musical company, you’re just in time. Previous track 5,6,7,8 features fellow Slam Dunk attendees girlfriends, and LØLØ will be playing alongside all the best fresh talent – including another team Hopeless favourite, Scene Queen – and with omg here to join the party on LØLØ’s already bright back catalogue, her appearance on the Key Club stage is set to be unmissable.
