What’s better than seeing that one incredibly cool musician who’s recently (or not so recently) released a sick album packed with bangers has announced a tour? Obviously, seeing that two of them are touring together!! That’s right, Frank Iero and Laura Jane Grace, our favourite pairing in punk are bringing their respective bands and their immense combined collection of cool tattoos to a venue near you in autumn.
Since Barriers’ electric release earlier this year, we’ve been positively restless with the urge to throw ourselves into some moshpits to it, and with the addictive nature of Iero’s live shows (visible through the impressive cohort of fans who follow him round the country if not the continent), a few festival appearances won’t be enough to sate our appetites.
As for LJG and the Devouring Mothers, conserve your energy (or down an energy drink between sets) because you’re going to need it. Her emotional yet in-your-face punk needs to be rioted to, but don’t forget to riot kindly – Iero and LJG are a formidable pairing themselves, but even more formidable is the sense of community in both of their fanbases, and coming together this is just going to get more beautifully intense.
Tickets for the tour are available here.
