Sit back, buckle in, and hold on tight, because Bittersweet Press is taking to the air. In the most exciting Bittersweet news since Enter Shikari’s triple-threat sets at Reading 2019, we’ll be turning Tuesdays into your favourite night of the week with The Bittersweet Hour! That’s right, we’re talking all your favourite tracks, new and classic, brought to you by Bittersweet’s Emily and Ims. Tune in to Leeds Student Radio every Tuesday at 8pm to get your fill!

Up in Leeds, where we’re based, one lockdown loss has stung sorer than all the rest – our beloved Key Club. The home of Slam Dunk Festival, not to mention the UK’s (if not the world’s) best emo nights out, Key Club is the intimate hub for anyone even leaning towards the alternative. With nightclubs not allowed to open, and gigs a far-off pipe dream, it seems that a good old singalong is a thing of the past – until now. The Bittersweet Hour is an emo club packed into an hour-long slot, delivering our favourite anthems and, for those who want to take the party up a notch, a hearty drinking game linking with each week’s theme.

Speaking of themes – we’ve got plenty of those. We’re kicking things off with “Tours That Got Cancelled Thanks To Covid” Week (it doesn’t get more bittersweet than that), but other treats in store include the Halloween show, festival weeks, Emo Prom, Debut Album Specials… you name it, we’ll do it!

There’s even more ways you can get involved too – rock is nothing without its community, and while we can’t all be thrown together in a moshpit, we’ve still got the wonderful internet to keep us in touch. Every week, we want to hear about your favourite tracks, your first gig experience, the song you think is criminally underrated… We’ll be asking questions throughout the show, and digging through our library to dish out curated musical recommendations too, so head over to our socials (Twitter and our brand new Instagram) to get involved.

So that’s The Bittersweet Hour. Every Tuesday, 8-9pm, LSR, a guaranteed good time. See you on the airwaves!
