December is upon us! How it’s already December is a mystery… but look, we nearly made it through another year like no other. Yay! In the spirit of looking forwards, and making 2022 the best year yet, we’ve got news of a new tour we can’t wait for coming in 2022. Come back daily for a new treat.
DAY TWENTY-TWO: READING AND LEEDS FESTIVAL
OK. This year is kind of the Reading and Leeds renaissance. Of course, there are still the naysayers who have their complaints, as with every year, but after we’ve all spent a couple of years locked away and dug deeper into the music we love, more people are learning to appreciate the cross-genre masterpiece that R&L tend to be – and this year, with their latest announcement, they’ve bloody nailed it more than ever. In the best lineup announcement of the last few years, they’ve provided the absolute best of current and classic rock, alongside the hottest in the mainstream, demonstrating their knack for pleasing the world as well as changing with the times.
For the rock fans, there’s an absolute smorgasbord. From 2020-promised LEGEND headliners Rage Against The Machine to their Main Stage West counterpart Halsey, who’s tarred their alt-pop brush with some of the year’s most searing rock on latest record If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. And from 2020’s most-lamented lack Bring Me The Horizon – who were clearly just biding their time till their utterly stupendous POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR EP had had time to simmer (or could we be due more Bring Me this year, hmm?), to Eurovision breakthrough sensations Maneskin in all their glory. And that’s just the big names. Our undercard features Fever 333, JXDN, Kid Brunswick, Enter Shikari… We’re sold, and this is just the barebones first announcement. Bring it ON PLEASE!
Reading and Leeds festival will be held on these dates: 26-28th August.
