Oh 2000Trees… yes, yes, yes. Joining the already-stacked line-up for the grand return in 2022 are a whole new set of bands, rounding things out in classic, riotous 2000Trees fashion. Thrice and Jimmy Eat World will be joined by final headliner IDLES, for a slice of noisy punk goodness – and it’s a heartwarming Trees success story, as IDLES played for the first time on the festival’s smaller stages just six years ago. Now they’re back to tear it up with new magnitude, and a whole new album in the form of CRAWLERS, coming November, too.
Elsewhere on the line-up, the punky energy doesn’t relent – across the whole spectrum of punk, too. From the gnarly PUP to the politics of Anti-Flag, from the indie-tinged intimacy of Lauran Hibberd to the iconic, formidable Laura Jane Grace. 2000Trees know how to get emotions running high, and this is shaping up to be a weekend that’s just packed with shout-along, mosh-along favourites.
And if there’s one thing that characterises every band that’ll be gracing the fields of Gloucestershire next July, it’s an undefinable, inimitable feeling of community that the festival have cultivated over the years. The likes of Vukovi, Beans on Toast, Press to Meco, and more return after numerous explosive Trees sets, joined by future veterans like Lande Hekt and Bob Vylan – the Trees family just grows with every year. Make sure you’re part of it too!
